What if we looked within ourselves to discover our very own uniqueness and develop our gifts we each possess? How would we feel pursuing what is in our own heart? Let’s face it, we live in a world where the access to information takes a click of a button. The ability to jump on social media platforms and compare ourselves to others is the easiest it has ever been. At a crossroad and wondering what avenue you are going to take next in your career, look to the latest career trends that others are involving themselves in and before you know it you find yourself doing the same thing. Are you happy now? Is your heart at ease? Chances are you have not tapped into your greatest capabilities and are probably not the happiest you could be.
I see this happen too many times. It is not hard to do. Throughout my life, I have seen with my own eyes so much human potential in this world. If only it could all be tapped into. If only fear or influence did not persuade when trying to tap into our fullest potential. For example, some of us have been given a gift of medical knowledge, others possess strong communication skills, and so on. At times, I witness people going down another path that does not allow them to capitalize on their own exceptional strengths and traits that make them, well, uniquely them. What if we all followed what we truly desired in our heart that would allow us to tap into the ultimate level of fulfillment in life?
In this specific topic of career, would we have tapped into the ultimate sense of happiness we can experience in this lifetime? Would our outlook on life be more positive if we followed what allows for our heart to rejoice? Would our relationships with others be healthier due to our happiness and career experience in life? These are just thoughts to hold on to, should you ever be faced when considering the next avenue to take in your life when it comes to career. While you may be influenced by what others are doing or what society ‘expects’ of you, I challenge you to ask your own self, am I going to be happy in five years should I pursue this path?
It is through life experience that I bring up topics of this nature to discuss and initiate conversation about. It is my mission to encourage you to embrace your characteristics and traits that you uniquely possess as a human being that would lead you on a fulfilling journey in your career and ultimately life. Understand that success in a chosen area does not happen overnight. The world needs your courageous nature to follow your heart and the uniqueness you possess. By taking the road less traveled, listening to your heart, and through this journey of leading a fulfilled life, perhaps we would have more people inspiring others to do the same.
I end with this. In a world where there is the ability to compare yourself to what others are pursuing in their career or jumping to the next trend to fit in, I encourage you to follow your heart’s desire and choose to celebrate the uniqueness in you. You will find happiness leading a life that is unique to you and maybe in the process inspire someone else to tap into their own unique gifts.
